What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that your browser stores when you visit a website. Some are technically necessary for a page to work securely and correctly. Others are used for analytics or advertising – we don’t use those.

Which cookies we use

Cloudflare (protection against attacks)

Our website and booking page run via Cloudflare. To fend off automated access and attacks, Cloudflare may set these cookies:

• __cf_bm – distinguishes humans from bots, lifetime 30 minutes
• cf_clearance – remembers that a security check was passed, lifetime up to one year (usually much shorter)

Your guest page

When you open your personal guest page on buchen.fernblick-odenwald.de after booking and confirm your name, we set the cookie fhp_gast_…. It keeps you logged in on this device for 30 days so you don’t have to enter your name every time. It only applies to your guest page and contains no data about you, just an encrypted proof.

Your language setting

If you switch the language using the „DE | EN“ switch, we save your choice in the cookie fb_lang (value „de“ or „en“, lifetime one year). This way the website, booking page and guest page appear in your language. It contains no data about you.

Legal basis

All the cookies mentioned are technically necessary for our pages to work securely, for you to use your guest page, or to remember the language you chose. No consent is required for this (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). That’s why you won’t see a cookie banner on our site.

Deleting cookies

You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time. The pages will still work – your guest page will simply ask for your name again and the site will start in the default language.
